TEAM MANAGEMENT

The San Francisco soccer ecosystem is relatively unique in the US: we are one of few cities where parents, schools, community organizations (pretty much anyone) can independently form and administer teams. Our staff is largely a product of that ecosystem, we're very proud of that history and aim to maintain access to our leagues for anyone in San Francisco who wants to play.

None of our work would be possible without support from a legion of adult volunteers and soccer professionals willing to jump through the hoops required to make a team happen while keeping kids safe–if you're on this page, that's probably you! Thank you a million times over, and we hope to help outline and support you through those hoops (we promise it's worth it). Keep scrolling for a bunch of links and resources. Support Your Coach with
The Sideline Project

Coaches are ultimately responsible for spectator behavior, and will pay the price in the form of suspensions for egregious behavior. Support your coaches (and your players) by encouraging your parents to take the Sideline Project course. It's just 20 minutes and it can only positively impact spectator and postgame interaction!

The Soccer Parenting Association has created an education platform intended to empower parents, players and coaches with information that will help create a supportive, collaborative playing environment. Especially if your family is new to soccer or sports in general, the Sideline Project gives an overview of how adults can positively impact player experience and development – without muddying the waters with constant feedback and instructions from the sidelines.
